Separation and Stabilization of Soils
Non woven geotextiles are commonly utilized in the construction of roads and highways as well as other applications, in which select aggregates are to be placed and compacted overweak natural soils.
In order to stabilize these soils, the non woven geotextile is placed between the natural soil and the consequent aggregate layers to provide separation, ensuring that these two do not mix and loose their design properties. This will ensure a longer road life, and save the owner considerable maintenance costs.
The type of geotextile to be selected will depend on the tensile strength required to provide reinforcement to the soil, as well as the geotextile’s ability to withstand construction damage.
